[ top ] Sales Tax Sales tax is charged for same-state orders, but not for out-of-state orders. For example, if you live in Illinois and you place an order with Elgin Books, located in Illinois, you will be charged sales tax. If you live in Indiana, then you will not be charged sales tax. [ top ] Shipping Rates Shipping rates vary from carrier to carrier. Final shipping cost for an order is composed of a flat per-order shipping fee, plus a fixed per-book handling fee. Rates are subject to change without notice due to increases in fuel surcharges and carrier rate adjustments. [ top ] Special Orders "Special order" refers to a book that we may not have in-stock and available for shipping. Special orders include books that are considered rare or collector's items. We reserve the right to determine what constitutes a Special Order. Special Orders may take us longer to fulfill than a standard order and the price is subject to change.
